Time to clean out the house for fall (or move it to someone else’s house). Your PTSO is looking for donations for its Fall Yard Sale Fundraiser. We need to start talking to friends and neighbors about donating books, household goods, toys, clothing, etc. Got something to donate? Just dash a note off to us on the Contacts page to let us know.

School is just around the corner. There is a Freshmen Orientation scheduled for August 22nd starting at 8:00 AM sharp. The PTSO will have a table in the Big Gym Lobby. On August 23rd from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, there is an Open House for all students. Our table moves to either C Building or the Cafeteria breezeway.

The PTSO will be there to help students and parents sign up, entice you to volunteer for the various committees, or link your Food Lion and Harris Teeter cards to the PTSO. Keep an eye out for us.

Please note that bus drivers will be available from 5:30 to 7:00 to help with bus routes.

PTSO President Ale O’Brien and the Executive Board welcome you back to a new year at DCHS. Please check out Ale’s letter to the community and your PTSO’s plans for 2011. The package also contains a 2011 Membership form for those that have yet to join.

The PTSA will be holding a General Assembly Monday, May 23rd at 4:00 in the Media Center. The main topic of discussion will be PTSA vs. PTSO. Officers will be elected and other regular business will be covered.
